There’s nothing like fresh popcorn. I mean, REALLY fresh, recently popped popcorn. The smell of just one poprcorn machine wafts around and fills the entire circus tent, mixing with the smell of sawdust, of sugary candyfloss, of horses and giddiness and excitement, creating that unmistakable circus smell.

We were meant to be in Clonmel Co.Tipperary, right about now, from the 17th-21st. Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions - the site we were meant to be pitched on is completely flooded - we have had to remain here in Limerick.

I love circus make-up. The thick lines of dark liner, the glitter, the giant false eyelashes. Preparation for each performance starts hours before the actual show.
